Final Exam Hot Topics
The test so far:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/124LaCGUfrX_Lsgdlq46Ebt0aVfh5KZWiHrC7mrWHZtU/edit?usp=sharing
The big topics that I am interested in seeing on the test include:
- Definition of a limit and how the definition of a derivative relates to a limit
- Derivatives (chain rule, quotient rule, product rule, trig, Ln, Implicit differentiation)
- Application of Derivatives
- Distance, Rate, knowing units of a derivative, finding slopes of tangent lines and knowing what those slopes represent (rates)
- Min, Max, Points of Inflection...what does the derivative tell us about the graph of the function? (second derivative, etc.)
- Integrals and Application of Integrals
- Finidng a function given it's derivative and an initial condition
- Total distance/displacement
- volumes
- Area between curves
- Avg. value of a function*
I think your test would be nice if it was made up of two parts:
1. Multiple Choice/Write in the answer Topics
2. One Free Response Question that covers either a Related Rates problem OR a Position/Velocity/Acceleration type of problem.
Disclaimer: There are more big topics we've covered this year that are extremely valuable, I am trying to consider our time constraints.
